What I believe
After sojourning with the disciples since the time of the crucifixion and seeing the risen
Christ appear amongst his disciples and speak many more words of instruction, the thought "what do I
believe" entered into the heart of the traveller.
The traveller had been bought up in the gentile world which always says believe only what you
can see, feel or touch. Yet in the many things he had seen and heard in the times he was walking in were the exact
opposite.
He had seen men raised from the dead, those inflicted with demons being set free, diseases being
totally healed, the blind being given sight, both physically and spiritually and lives completely changed.
In this world men would say all these things are simply not possible. Just as the traveller came
to this point he remembered these words that were spoken, 2 Corinthians 4:18: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which
are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Now this made all sense to him for carnal man looks unto the things of carnal man, but the man
who walks in Christ Jesus will look unto the spiritual things which are contained only in Him.
The traveller would be reminded of this word and many others he had heard as he continued down
this road in Christ Jesus.
Alone yet not alone on that narrow path the traveller was to see the disciples being put to
death, many of the brothers and sisters he came to know and dearly love scattered by the hatred of those in the
world or sent by Christ through the Holy Ghost to do his will in other parts of this earth.
In all this he came to understand that now he had no home land or country in this world and he
was just passing through. His Kingdom was the same one as Christ Jesus came from and returned to.
Again the thought came back to him but this time the travellers reply was swift and sure. I
believe that Christ Jesus is the Son of God. He came to save the save this world and all those who had ears to
listen.
In him all things are possible not matter what the deceived men of this world may think or do.
Mark 9:23: Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to
him that believeth.
So what I see is only temporary and is passing away, whereas the things of God are
eternal and will stand until the end of time itself if there is to be such a thing was the thought that filled
the travellers spirit, soul and mind.
In Him all things are possible for those that believe was the final thought on this
matter as the traveller continued his journey with those that he found himself with in Christ Jesus.
