They Kill What they Love
They “Kill what they love” were the words of the
character “John Coffey” in the movie Walking the Green Mile.
The pain endured by this characters walk upon the earth was evident to see as he struggled to
understand why man did wicked things to each other.
His words “I am tired and the pain is like glass shreds constantly
in my head” are words that echo those that walk in Christ Jesus and Jesus himself.
Luke 19:41: And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and
wept over it.
Words written as Jesus looked upon Jerusalem because they knew not the time of his visitation
and what could have been theirs but now was hidden from them.
Many that walk in depth of Christ come to the same place John Coffey came, you look upon the
world and your heart breaks in little pieces.
You see the wickedness man does to each other and it causes you to fall to your knees and weep
uncontrollable.
Your voice cries out and your strength wanes as you see the wickedness continue day after day
with no end in sight.
Many of you walk alone doing the work of the Father yet you know you are not alone.
Even this becomes a burden on you and at times you say in your heart “please Lord let me come home to you”
You understand the calling I have placed on your lives as well as understanding the things you
see and hear must be and must come to pass.
I know this does not make it easy for you to walk the narrow path and bear the burden you have
willing taken up in my name.
Know my Son intercedes for you every day as you come to me in that hidden place.
Know beyond doubt I am always with you and will be until the end of time.
Know I have my hidden ones crying out for you before my throne.
Know I have given my angels charge over you to keep you in all my ways.
Know that the joy I gave will come and fill you to overflowing.
Know that this life is not your final destination and that you will always be by my side in the
life to come.
When you look at all the wickedness in this world and your heart breaks and their pain touches
your inner most being then “be still and know that I am God Almighty” and I shall lift this burden from you as you
cry out before me for the lives of the ones carrying out this wickedness and for the ones that are suffering
because of the wickedness.
As surely there was a beginning there surely is an end.
And an end will come to all the pain and suffering and there will be no more tears shed by those
who walk with me in the days to come.
Be not like John Coffey when you reach this point when all in this world overwhelms you turn and
look upon me and the strength needed to continue to go unto the lost will flow back unto you.
Filled with my wisdom and understanding your journey shall continue to the day that I do call
you to sleep until I return and then you shall rise up to be with me for eternity.
