Mercy walked in

By Gordon Mote, Sheri Easter and Charlotte

I stood in the court room before the judge of all time and heard the words, it looks like you are guilty now what do you say?

I spoke up and said your honor I have no defence but that's when mercy walked in.

Mercy walked in and pleaded my case, the blood was presented and it covered all of my sins.

I was forgiven when mercy walked in and I stood there and wondered how could this be that someone who was so guilty had just been set free.

I heard his voice so sure and clear as he presented himself to the Father of all those above and below. My name is Jesus, your Son whom you sent to pay for all mankind's sins and who died upon that cross upon that hill in that space of time.

My body was broken and my blood flowed so freely for this man and many others who have called upon my name. In that moment of time my chains were broken and I was washed clean all because mercy had walked in and pleaded my case.

Then the realisation came that it was through God's saving grace I was forgiven when His mercy, his Son walked right on in.

I could not contain all that was in me and I fell to my knees when divine mercy came unto me. Oh how the tears did fall and all the brokenness and pain simply was washed away by this mercy that had come unto me.

I knew beyond doubt you see, that I was guilty and deserved all that the judge was to give unto me but then his mercy walked on in and pleaded my case before the King of all and I was forgiven and set free.

Words failed me as I was on my knees but I looked up into the eyes of this mercy that had come unto me and pleaded my case and I knew beyond all doubt that mercy did exist indeed.

His hand reached down as I reached up unto him, his love shone out of his piercing eyes and I was filled to overflowing of Him and only Him as I heard his words, my son you are forgiven and you have been set free.

Mercy indeed walked in and pleaded my case

Thank you Jesus for being my advocate before the Father and pleading my case.

You set me free from all of my sin's and all the glory and honor and worship is yours and yours alone.

No words can ever fill my mouth as to how grateful I am for your sacrifice and the blood spilt for me.
