Honor thy father and mother
Honor thy Father and Mother were the words that sprung to life for the traveller as he read
from the word of God.
His Father in heaven knew that he did not know of his mother as she had died when he was only
one.
His Father, well he had gone through a time and place where men were fighting and killing each
other.
His eyes had seen destruction of men and land that his heart was broken and hurt that he never
spoke of these horrors to anyone.
As the traveller listened to the Lord speak to him of his parents understanding came and he
cried out Lord, thank you for my mother, the one who bore me in her womb and bought me into this world.
You have shown me she was a woman of prayer, she was a woman of you Lord and cried out to you
for me.
I thank you for my father Lord. Though I really did not know this man, I now know and understand
for you have shown me who he truely was.
He faced and saw the horrors and wickness of man in this world and it reached so deep into his
spirit and soul he hid from those around him and tried to bathe the pain in the things of this world.
I praise and thank you for him were my cries to my Father who art in heaven. I praise and
thank you for both of them, for I am a part of them both and I will honor their lives with all that I am.
I honor them Lord with all the very breath that you breathed in me, even though I never
knew either of them.
You have been my Father and mother before the beginning of time and I know you knew me
before I was formed. I am your child, your son, a brother to my Lord and savior to your Son, Jesus Christ.
I bow down before you and worship my Lord and King and give you all the glory, honor praise for
you and you alone are worthy.
