Church Dropouts

If you walk in church circles you have heard by men's mouths that many are leaving the known church.

The words spoken speak words like these ones are backslider's (turning their back on the Lord), or they did not get their way or they have an unresolved issue that they need to go away and fix before they can fellowship with the others in this place.

The stream of words are endless about this group of people. Some of the words may be true in that some have been hurt badly by the system and people controlling their church and they have left because of this and gone back into the world.

Like many I have heard these words myself, but what the leaders in these places failed to even ask or address is what was driving these people onwards.

Was the "way" they were teaching their flock in accordance with the very word they professed to hold and walk to?

These were simple questions asked of them but the people being asked these very simple questions reacted in such a way that even Jesus himself would shake the dust off his feet and leave that place where these ones have gathered.

If you have read the "What is Church" article you will know have an understanding that the Jesus never instructed any of his disciples to form an organisation and fill it full of programmes to keep the masses in line and happy.

What has happened to the Church Dropouts?

If every single one of those that have left these places and have gone back into the world and turned against the Lord in action and deed then the words of those in these man made organisations would have a right to say words like many speak.

But in many who left this is not the case. In seeking the Lord you may very well find this scripture is being played out. Matthew 16:18:And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

• If you are one who has been badly hurt by the many in these places I would plead with you in Jesus' name to run to Him and lay down those things and forgive those men and let the Lord move you onto that greater freedom in Him.

• To those who remain in these places, know beyond doubt that the Lord does love you, but man made organisations which use the talents He gave you were given for greater things than what they are being used for right this moment.

• The challenge to us all no matter where we are is to what the Lord tells us to do, seek, ask and you will find His truth which is beyond the carnal words of man.
