Christ is Risen

Christ is risen were the words that poured from the mouths of some of the disciples as they came rushing into the room where we all had been after the crucifixion.

They were breathless as these words tumbled from their mouths as they had been running.

One of the woman with them said she had seen him and he had told her that he ascends unto his Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

These words astounded and took me by surprise. Is it possible I wondered and my heart leapt at the possibility of seeing my savior again.

Others in the room expressed strong doubt, but others believed on the words spoken by the women and rejoiced.

It was the first day of the week and we had shut ourselves in this room for the fear of those whom had cried crucify him when this Jesus came and stood in the midst of us.

He showed us his hands and side and the whole room erupted into pure joy for truly our savior had risen and was standing amongst us.

He spoke many words to us all saying as his Father had sent him, so he sends us and he breathed on us and we received the Holy Ghost.

The grief which was so consuming at seeing him crucified fled in the instance the traveller saw him and again tears flowed freely down his face. This time though they were tears of joy and not of grief and despair.

He said to us all, Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

The traveller knew then that this Christ had truly come to save the world but the world had rejected him and knew him not.

As he sat there in a stunned silence and hearing the words flowing from his mouth he understood his words "so he sends us".

There were others out there in this world so utterly lost that he was to go unto them lead by him through his Holy Ghost and preach the good news to them that were seeking as he had been.

The traveller also began to understand that his travels had just begun and the road he was walking down was indeed narrow and not many were willing to walk it.

The blindness had been taken from his eyes so he could see the truth, the life and the way.

The deafness that had stopped him from hearing the truth was also lifted and now the truth resided in him.

It was this truth, way and life that was to sustain the traveller in the journey that was before him in Christ Jesus name.
